We have started offering online processes through the Single Window for Investments, reinforcing our role in facilitating investment in Uruguay.
In December 2023, we launched the Single Window for Investments (VUI), a centralized information channel for individuals looking to invest in Uruguay. In this initial phase, we provided both domestic and foreign investors with a platform that consolidates information on all the necessary steps to establish a business in the country. This includes guidance on opening a company, hiring staff, and managing permits with public agencies.
We are now embarking on a critical new phase in our development. We are launching the first process that can be conducted directly through the VUI. This initiative aims to simplify and streamline processes, enhance the business climate, and reinforce Uruguay’s status as a trustworthy, competitive, and innovative destination for investment.
We are pleased to announce that, in coordination with the National Directorate of Free Trade Zones of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, we will launch the Biannual Declaration for Free Trade Zone Companies this October. This procedure is designed for companies operating within free trade zones and is essential for internationalizing businesses in Uruguay.
The VUI was created under the 2022 Accountability Law, promoted with the Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), and technical support from the Agency for Electronic Government and the Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC).
With this second stage, we reaffirm our mission to make it easier to invest in Uruguay, consolidating a more efficient, transparent, and competitive business environment, and showing the world that Uruguay is ready to optimize investment processes in an efficient and reliable way.
